Amanda Long

Assistant Vice Provost of Career and Professional Development

Amanda Long serves as the Assistant Vice Provost of Career and Professional Development within the Pathways Center. She supports students in the exploration of career pathways, the development of job-seeking skills, and the building of a professional network with employers and alumni. Previously, Amanda spent 13 years in the career center at Kennesaw State University, serving in leadership roles over employer relations, career outreach, and the internship/co-op program. While at KSU, she served as an advisor to the Career Ambassadors student group, mentored new professionals in student affairs, and taught a sophomore career exploration course. She has been a member of the Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers since 2010 and served as the association’s president from 2016 to 2017.  
 
Amanda earned an Ed.D. in Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Georgia in 2023. Her research explored the factors contributing to anxiety and confidence related to academic majors and career decision-making. Outside of career services, she has completed an internship with the Dean of Students office at Kennesaw State (supporting Parent and Family Programs, Student Disability Services, and the Behavioral Response Team) and served as a graduate assistant for the Office of the Registrar at UGA. She previously earned an MEd in Professional Counseling from the University of Georgia and a BS in Psychology from Georgia Southern University.
