Cheree Copeland

Student Employment Manager

Cheree Copeland serves as Student Employment Manager in the Pathways Center at Emory University. In this role, she collaborates with colleagues across Human Resources, Financial Aid, and campus departments to strengthen and enhance undergraduate student employment. Her work focuses on developing a more centralized and coordinated approach to student employment by increasing visibility of opportunities, supporting student onboarding, promoting compliance, and creating resources that support both student employees and supervisors. Through these efforts, she helps students engage in meaningful employment experiences that contribute to their academic, professional, and personal development.

Prior to joining Emory, Cheree held student affairs and student success roles at Towson University, the University of Memphis, and Kennesaw State University. Throughout her career, she has worked in residence life, new student programs, leadership development, student retention, and career services. Drawing on these experiences, she views student employment as a high-impact practice that fosters belonging, skill development, career readiness, and student success.

A proud first-generation college graduate, Cheree earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Valdosta State University and a Master of Science in Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University Bloomington. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in College Student Affairs Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Organization Coaching at the University of Georgia.
