Career Closet


The Career Closet was created to provide undergraduate Emory students the ability to borrow clothing for career fairs, interviews, or other professional and social events.

The closet was made possible with donations from alumni, staff, faculty and community partners.

Check Out Process

The Career Closet is available to currently enrolled undergraduate Emory students.

Students are required to make an appointment to use the Career Closet (Tuesday - Thursday) using the link below. Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive an email with instructions for your appointment day. 

Walk-in days do not require a student to schedule an appointment. Students are required to check-in at the front desk before using the Career Closet.  

Important info for all checkouts:

  • There will be a 15 minute grace window for late arrivals for appointments. 
  • If you cannot attend your appointment, please reschedule via SLATE. Failure to cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment time may impact your ability to make future appointments. 
  • All items that are checked out must be returned within 5 Business Days of Checkout.
  • If students need additional time, students can extend once for an additional 2 days by emailing careercloset@emory.edu
  • Items must be returned in acceptable condition (do not need to be dry cleaned or laundered)
  • If an item is lost please email us at careercloset@emory.edu

Donation Guidelines

Our Career Closet is made possible by donations from our Emory community (alumni, faculty, staff, families) and partners.
 
We Are Currently Accepting: 

Modern, professional attire that reflects current workplace styles and has been worn or in style within the past 10 years.  Items can be new or gently worn. Recently used clothing should be cleaned prior to donation.

Items such as: Two-piece suits • Jackets and Blazers • Blouses and Dress Shirts • Dress Pants • Skirts and Dresses • Professional Shoes (closed-toe, clean, and in good condition) • Ties • Belts • Professional Accessories (cufflinks, necklaces, tie clips, lapel pins)


What We Do NOT Accept

To ensure the Career Closet continues to best support our students, we are unable to accept: swimwear, active wear, athleisure, lifestyle or casual clothing (t-shirts, hoodies, jeans, leggings, etc.), or undergarments.

Items with stains, tears, heavy wear, or odors are highly unacceptable.

 

Instructions for Donation Drop-Off

All donated items should be workplace-appropriate and in good condition. Donations can be dropped off at the Pathways Center during business hours.

  • We will accept donation drop-offs Monday to Friday anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (excluding University Holidays)
